Feng Shui – An IntroductionIn today’s Western world, we have the option of two types of Feng Shui. These were passed down by the ancient dynasties of China over 6000 years ago, and are still practiced by the masters of today. There is the traditional Feng Shui and the New Age Feng Shui. New Age Feng Shui is like reading your daily horoscope each day. It is mainly used for entertainment, but the traditional Feng Shui does not wholly support this. You can skim through the Feng Shui introduction of both types to choose what works for you. Feng Shui, when translated, means wind and water or sky and seas. This title comes from an ancient classic, which describes a rule that applies to the movement of Chi. Feng Shui was thought to be woven around old wives’ tales, but in reality it is based on a mathematical formula and anyone with a little patience can learn it. Feng Shui is a precision-based approach to harmonizing the energy of our environment that leads us to understanding what energy is. In the Feng Shui System, there are three energies. These are Chi, Magnetic Energy and Land Spirits, Chi is the universal energy that flows and connects everything else. Chi requires dedication to learn and once accomplished, it is known as a part of Feng Shui. There is another part of Feng Shui -- the understanding of the Six Realms of Existence. This is a teaching central to Buddhist and Taoist belief. A part of Feng Shui is devoted to harmonizing existence within various realms. This means a relationship between the living and the dead and is called the House of Yin Feng Shui -- the study of burial grounds. It is believed that the support of spirits is essential, while the absence of them is abnormal. There are different kinds of spirits and one must be able to understand at what level the spirit is. Becoming a master at Feng Shui involves a lot of study. Feng Shui is so powerful that it is referred to as the Secrets of Heaven and Earth and many of the old Masters have gone to their graves with their secrets in order to prevent this from falling into the wrong hands. It is important that when you meet a true master it is wise to take the opportunity to learn from him. It is tried and true that spirits can be delivered, calamities averted and fates changed, but only if you understand the true way.
